The Integrated Ocean Drilling Program Management International (IODP-MI) is an international nonprofit organization that manages the IODP (www.iodp.org). We seek a highly motivated individual with strong communication skills to join our team in our Tokyo office as Science Manager/ Science Coordinator.
Tasks: Assist in the management and support of the IODP Science Planning Process. Activities include support of Scientific Advisory Structure (SAS), participation in IODP-MI task forces, oversight of IODP Site Survey Data Bank. Considerable meeting activity and travel can be expected.
Qualifications: We seek an individual with a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field of Earth or ocean sciences. Familiarity with site survey data, prior experience with scientific drilling, or prior involvement with another large international science program would be beneficial, but are not requirements. Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential. Appointment as either Science Manager or Science Coordinator will depend on post-doctoral work experience.
